SO EXCITED !!!!!I leave in about 1hr to drive down to VT/GA for the long holiday weekend! I am so very excited!! We'll be going to the VT/Alabama kick off game this weekend in Atlanta GA. I've never been to GA so I'm very excited. I hope to get a lot in within the few hours we will be spending there. Pictures, sight seeing, food....oh and did I mention the game is in the Atlanta Dome? (totally don't know how to spell that word) Apparently that is an exciting thing. My brother-in-law was pretty jealous so that made me excited to know I was going some place worthy of his jealousy ha ha. I promised to at least take pictures if not buy him something from the stadium :) I'm so nice. I also just learned, as if its not in the name of the stadium as it is, that this stadium is in a dome! This also excites me. I've never been in one of those aanndd its at night time so i'm hoping I wont get as chilly? I dunno. Any ways....I'm excited! Yay!...and this blogging post took up 6 whole minutes of my times so I now have less than an hour to go till I leave! :)Chocolate Chiphttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17172390060425292559noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-351198808033936981.post-16978420451929243922009-09-02T06:58:00.000-07:002009-09-02T07:25:07.884-07:00Year 2....So I know it's kind of late to be writing about this, but...Last week I took Brett back down to school for his Sr. year of college. Thank God! This will be the last year spent so far apart! While I don't want to wish my life away, I am so very excited for this year to be over! I treasure every second I get to spend with him and sadly during the school year that time doesn't come but every other weekend. Maybe I'm being selfish...?...I know of others who are in much worse situations. But I can't help that I want so badly to be with him all the time. After 16 months the kid still gives me the craziest butterflies I've ever felt. This weekend finally marks 2 weeks and I'll be heading down to visit for a long weekend :) Just thinking about it right now makes me smile from ear to ear. Friday can't come soon enough!

I miss this.

Chocolate Chiphttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17172390060425292559noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-351198808033936981.post-34711217269759866162009-08-18T11:19:00.000-07:002009-08-18T11:21:50.252-07:00Baby SistaThis morning my baby sister, Bethany (who is not at all a baby), left for her first year of college. It is crazy how bad goodbye's hurt when you're saying them to loved ones. I think it took me 10 try's to get out the door. I kept going back for just one more hug...You see Beth is not only my sister but my best friend. She has been there for me through absolutely everything that has happened in my life. And even though I know she will still be there, whether via email, phone or wc I will miss her presence. I will miss her being there to not only pick out outfits for me, but leaving me notes as to how to wear it. I will miss doing crazy dances with her to Numa Numa in our room. I will miss not having her right in the other room to just go and talk to. I will miss arguing with her over the dumbest of things. She can never and will never be replaced.

Ha ha I'm talking as if I will never see her again, which I know is far from true. But I will miss all these things while she is gone. I thank God for her and the relationship we have built. She is an amazing woman and I know she is going to do some pretty amazing things!

I can't wait to see you again sister! I love you Beth!
Chocolate Chiphttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17172390060425292559noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-351198808033936981.post-14483285070088797872009-07-17T10:27:00.000-07:002009-07-17T10:31:31.749-07:00Weekend Weekend Weekend!!!I'm not sure if I can describe the excitement going through me right now that the weekend will start in just a few hours! I don't even have any big, fun, exciting plans for the next 2 days. I'm just dying for something more than simply sitting here at my desk starring at people as they walk by outside the window. Literally that is what I get paid to do. No joke. This may sound really awesome. To be paid to do nothing but sit and watch people walk by outside. There may be a phone call to answer here or there and an email to respond to once or twice, but other than I sit. It causes for such a long day and so much time to kill (hence the writing of this very pointless post).

Maybe I will catch you up with the activities that have gone down these past few weeks that I have not posted...

-As I briefly mentioned in my last post, I was very excited about the fireworks! Brett and I did get to see some near his house that night. I love the colors and the booming noise! It's so fun!

-I finished my summer class! Statistics and Probability. Totally worthless to what I'm going to school for, but with the help of my Bids I got an 89.83! I wonder if she'll round that up to an A...?

-I got another tattoo! My sister and I got matching tattoo's on our backs. Our very talented brother-in-law spent an entire night doing our tattoo's for us! It is a Celtic symbol for sisterhood. I really like it a lot! Maybe some day I will get a picture of it on here :)

-I started a new 10 week class for the bank. Not very exciting, but in the end it will hopefully get me a raise!

-Some really good friends of the Bids and I just got engaged a little while ago! Very excited for them!! They've been dating for over 3 years, so it's about time! ha ha

-As I type a lady from an organization downtown just came in to do stuff at the bank. The organization she works at is one that I have been researching. They work with mentally handicapped people, mentally ill and homeless. I found myself pretty interested in the homeless section. They also have a smaller section of the organization that works with children who are homeless. They try to provide them with activities and stuff to make their lives feel as normal as possible. The thought has been bouncing around in my head and this lady really encouraged me to go and check it out....interesting...is this a God thing???

Ok I know my list is short, but those are some highlights to my life as of lately! Have a great weekend!!!Chocolate Chiphttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17172390060425292559noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-351198808033936981.post-10327880324646210402009-07-03T07:35:00.001-07:002009-07-03T07:36:19.710-07:00!!!SO EXCITED FOR FIREWORKS TOMORROW!!!!!!!!!!!Chocolate Chiphttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17172390060425292559noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-351198808033936981.post-25062628457528284232009-06-23T11:00:00.000-07:002009-06-23T11:04:25.147-07:00Love until it HurtsDo you ever get that feeling that this is most definitely not where you are suppose to be. I mean maybe in the moment you are, but not for long. Like this is just one step you have to take to get to where you want to be. Today my feeling of 'this is not where I'm to be' is very strong. I want to go somewhere and do something that makes me feel like I'm actually doing something that matters.

My dad and step-mom support a child through Compassion and they receive magazines from them monthly I think. Well the other day I was reading an article in that magazine. A reporter was interviewing some moms in different parts of the world and the topic of discussion was food. What do these women feed their family's, their children, when they literally have nothing? The answers broke my heart. A mom from South Africa said she feeds her children water with salt mixed in it. She says the salt at least makes them feel like they are eating something. A mother in Haiti said she feeds her children "mud cookies". This is a mixture of water, dirt, sometimes salt and oil. It all depends on what they can afford at the point in time. Can you imagine having to feed your children that? These stories break me. I don't know about you, but I especially feel a tug, a tug in my heart, that this is what I'm suppose to be doing. That I should be helping to feed those families and to hold the babies who have been left behind by their moms and dads. To play with the kids who don't have a chance to be a kid because they're too busy working so they can help bring in a little money for their families. Or maybe they are expected to take on the role of a mom or a dad because parents have left them or maybe because they have passed on.

Maybe it sounds silly. But these thoughts are always in the back of my head. I know I need to be patient. I need to wait till I'm not 30 thousand dollars in debt. I need to wait until I am out of college. I need to wait. There is no way I could go and do any of that at this moment. Not yet.

"I have found the paradox, that if you love until it hurts, there can be no more hurt, only more love." -Mother Teresa

...sorry for my little rant...but thanks for listening :)Chocolate Chiphttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17172390060425292559noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-351198808033936981.post-56092643463367564682009-06-21T19:37:00.000-07:002009-06-21T19:48:39.017-07:00Fathers Day!! To my Daddy!

HAPPY FATHERS DAY!!!!!

LOVE YOU!!!!!!

Chocolate Chiphttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17172390060425292559noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-351198808033936981.post-82620608531485781662009-06-19T20:27:00.001-07:002009-06-19T20:33:21.628-07:00Workin on a Makeover! So as you can see my blog is going under a makeover. Thanks to my brother-in-law (who by the way you can find at Blueberry's Dad) my page is looking much much better now! He gave me an entire blogging lesson last night, so hopefully my page keeps improving :) Stay tuned for an even more improved blog makeover as I continue to learn more!

Any suggestions??Chocolate Chiphttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17172390060425292559noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-351198808033936981.post-73525463676862495962009-06-18T09:19:00.000-07:002009-06-18T10:08:14.066-07:00MovieLast night, after gorging myself in some pretty amazing wings, I went home and decided to watch a little bit of a movie before falling asleep. We're borrowing a movie right now called Fireproof. I've secretly wanted to watch it ever since it came out, but it is a Christian film and no offense, but usually those films are so low budget and the acting is so bad I don't bother watching them. I know that sounds horrible, but it does bother me to a point that just because it is a Christian film it has to be low budget and bad acting. Why isn't it that we can't come out with some type of quality movie?? ...anyways, sorry about that...So despite my feelings about Christian films this one really caught my attention. So finally last night I put it in, and not to my surprise the acting was rather cheesy.

I made it part way through and considered calling it a night. I mean I was pretty sleepy and the movie was decent, but nothing incredible. But then I started really feeling for the characters. The gist of the story was there was a relationship that was falling apart and they were about to call it quits on each other and divorce, but the father of the husband challenges him with a 40 day "Love Dare". Every day there is a new task he must complete to win his wife back. The things he did for this woman were so precious. By the end of the movie I was sobbing. Full blown out tears. I'm sure it would have been interesting to see. So, if you can get past some cheesy acting I would seriously suggest this movie. It's darling. Oh and in their defense (the actors and actress's) they are not professional actors, but rather just a group of people from a church in Tennessee who put it together.Chocolate Chiphttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17172390060425292559noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-351198808033936981.post-42722569574596356712009-06-11T11:27:00.000-07:002009-06-11T11:28:15.536-07:00Rain Rain Go AwaySo it has been VERY overcast around here the past couple days. We'll get hit with a little rain here, a few lightening bolts there. Nothing too big. But yesterday we got hit with one of the biggest storms I've seen in a long while. Thankfully I made it home from work before it hit, but no later than 15min after I stepped into the house the rain came. I swear it got harder and harder till we could hardly see the road looking out our living room window! Roads and yards were flooded. I even heard that a garage not to far from where I live got hit by lightening and caught fire. Scary stuff....Anyways...in the middle of this monster storm we lost power. I'm pretty sure it was out for a good 1.5hrs or so. We had nothing. No television. No internet. No lights. What were we to do!?!

It reminded me of when my siblings and I were younger and having the power go out was the coolest thing ever! We would each get a candle for our rooms and I remember a couple times we would wind up having little sleepovers in one of our rooms too. We'd giggle and talk till we fell asleep, but oh it was so much fun! I'm pretty sure secretly I would pretend we were on Little House on the Parries or something like that. :)

Yesterday, however, the power went out in the middle of the day so we could still see, so not as exciting. Today it is overcast again and I'm just waiting for the rain to come again. Pray for a clear day tomorrow! I'm going to a graduation and while I don't mind playing in the rain in the right get up, I'm thinking tomorrow would not be fun.Chocolate Chiphttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17172390060425292559noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-351198808033936981.post-10717789406139256152009-06-10T09:27:00.001-07:002009-06-10T09:27:52.049-07:00Dirt, Weeds and a Sore Back!So I have decided that I am in the wrong business and that I need to switch from banking to landscaping. Yesterday Brett and I worked this one lady's flower bed for about 2.5hrs and I made more there than I feel I will ever make here at the bank. And it was fun too! I loved working with the Bids :) Even though we didn't talk a whole lot, I felt like it was quality time together! A project we worked on together and will finish together.

We started out pulling crazy amounts of weeds. I swear this woman had more weed than actual plants she wanted. Some of them were so deep we had to use a shovel to them. Ha ha I'm not gonna lie thought, this part got a bit old after a while and me, being the ADD chick that I am, had to find some way to entertain myself during this constant repetition of pulling weed after weed. I tried bagging the already pulled weeds, but that didn't last long. I also tried switching up the location where I was pulling weeds, but that didn't help much either. So, I started playing with the worms :) Every worm I found I put into the worm pile that I called their little social pit. A place where each worm could come and wiggle and socialize with the other little wormies :) (ha ha I'm not crazy I swear, I was just desperate for entertainment!)

Anyways, after weed pulling and playing with worms we dug up and moved around some plants to make the garden look more...symmetrical (??) or maybe more evenly spaced (??). We bagged a bunch of mulch and spread weed killer all over. Again, it was a lot of fun and I enjoyed every minuet of working with the Bids and getting my hands dirty! :) However, on the down side, I am sore from finger to toe! I'm thinking I am a bit out of shape...good thing we're not going back till next Tuesday!!

(ps yes, I'm going to try this blogging thing again. I get rather bored at work and my sisters tell me this can keep me entertained. So far they are correct :) )Chocolate Chiphttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17172390060425292559noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-351198808033936981.post-3085988148435616622008-11-19T08:43:00.000-08:002008-11-19T09:21:57.130-08:00I have a lot to catch up on!01. I had no work and no school! There was no paper to be written, no reading to be read, no test to take, no lecture to listen to...it was amazing. So on this wonderful day Lauren and I (ps Lauren is a girl I work with) decided to go hiking somewhere in MD. The weather was perfect and since the leaves are changing color it was absolutely gorgeous! Anyways....so we hike to the top of this...mountain?....and we're pretty proud of ourselves (even though I'm pretty sure it was the easiest hike I've ever done). The view was really pretty and after we took it all in we started to make our way back down. Now on our way back down we ran into a sign that we didn't see on the way up. It was nailed to a tree and had small red writing on it, so in order to read it you had to get real close. As our noses are seriously inches away Lauren starts freaking out and runs away...leaving me by myself to discover the BIGGEST FREAKIN SNAKE right by the sign my nose was inches from that I have ever seen in my entire life... outside of a cage that is. Needless to say I ran away, but later ventured my way back over to take this lovely little photo that I am going to share with you :)

How the heck we didn't see that sucker I do not know!

Chocolate Chiphttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17172390060425292559noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-351198808033936981.post-77666224364072134152008-10-07T19:22:00.000-07:002008-10-07T20:27:45.608-07:00This Was a Bad IdeaWell hello everyone. Soooo.... Ash had the brilliant idea of letting her "biddy" (as i am affectionately called) log into her blog account since she is rather inconsistent with her postings. One small detail she may have overlooked in doing this was the fact that I have access to countless pictures of her. Many are of her looking gorgeous; however, there are those few where she is acting shall we say... silly (I figure that's a safe adjective to use)? and of course I being the loving and kind boyfriend will show you the former... haha in your dreams, so here goes. Please enjoy as I do!

What was the story behind this one? alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5242785241575532530" border="0" /> ok so next weekend a lady at my church, Encounters, is getting married and I offered to do her cake. Now keep in mind that this wedding is going to be VERY laid back. The wedding is actually Friday night and the "reception" is going to be Saturday afternoon. She told me that it's not even going to be a reception, but rather just a simple picnic to celebrate. She wasn't even going to have a cake, but one of her friends talked her into it. When we were talking about the cake she gave me no ideas as to what she wanted. No color skeem, no design, no nothing! She told me to just be creative and keep the cake and cupcakes vanilla and chocolate. All week I have been trying to think of what to do. Do I add color? Do I put designs on it? Do I keep it simple with just vanilla and chocolate? Finally, I decided to keep it simple. The cake is vanilla with vanilla icening and the cupcakes will be vanilla and chocolate with the icening to match. Ok, now this is where I need some help. And keep in mind that she wants it to be simple. This is what I had in mind (above). They are just trial runs, but what do you think??Chocolate Chiphttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17172390060425292559noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-351198808033936981.post-81075739971793079962008-09-04T19:54:00.000-07:002008-09-04T20:35:28.630-07:00Cercadillo has a piece of my heart

Last summer I spent a little over 2 months in the Dominican Republic serving with TIME Ministries. Along with 4 other interns I helped groups of Americans who came down for a week build a chapel from scratch or do street ministries and work in a village called Cercadillo. Cercadillo is a relatively large village outside of Santo Domingo. The people there are what some refer to as "the unknown" or they have no birth certificates. The dear people of this village are undocumented so the government refuses to recognize them. They are unable to go to school and are unable to get normal, steady jobs. Well about a year ago a lady named Ina "adopted" the village and has been working to give the children a chance at school. This past summer she started a program for them to start teaching them to read and write in spanish and to begin learning a little English. The kids are extremly excited to have this oppertunity. On top of teaching these kids there are other projects too. Every Friday the women of the village come to learn to sew things such as skirts, pillows, bags...ect. It was amazing to see the women complete these projects and how they were so proud of themselves and of eachother. Relationships were being made between the women. It was really neat. Two other projects that were completed this summer in Cercadillo were 2 bathrooms were built and 2 hand pumped wells were built. In one of the pictures above I am filling buckets full of water. This is how the people of Cercadillo used to have to recieve their water. They would have to wait for someone with a well to come and hook it up and fill their buckets. Sometimes this would only happen once a week, which would leave them with very little water to work with. This water is their cooking and bathing water. Now though since the new hand pump wells they are able to get their own water whenever they need it. Its very exciting..... So that is my little spurt on the village of Cercadillo. PS how can you upload photos without them going to the top of the page??Chocolate Chiphttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17172390060425292559noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-351198808033936981.post-68897219135443313372008-09-01T20:26:00.000-07:002008-09-01T21:33:21.129-07:00Adventures are good
So this past weekend I took a little trip to visit the biddy (biddy=the bf...just an fyi). That would be us :)

I started my adventure on Friday right after I got out of work at 2. It was rainy and yucky outside and I'm not gonna lie I was not looking forward to what was suppose to be a 5.5 hr drive to VT. Now I say "suppose to be" because this trip took me almost 6.5 hours due to getting lost.....twice. I swear I've never been that bad at directions, but when the GPS is telling you to turn left and there is NO LEFT! I got confused and freaked out. I don't do a good job at staying calm when I get lost by myself. If there is other people with me then I think it's hilarious, but not when I'm alone. Then it is no fun. Anyways...so I get there around 8/ 830. FINALLY. Its amazing how all the frustrations of the drive just seemed to melt away when I got there :)
So yea, that night we went to one of his friends apartment to chill. Kind of akward since I didn't really know anyone, but thankfully I'm realativly decent at being some what sociable and made it through the night. ha ha ok so that made it sound like it wasn't a good time. It was a great time! We played apples to apples (one of my favorite games to play) and these people were pretty funny, so really...what could go wrong?
Saturday was a lazy day. Not much went down. Watched some football (well Brett watched football....I think I was working on school stuff, but don't worry. I wasn't working on school too hard. That would be out of character for me ha ha) However, something in character for me is the kitchen. Or so I thought. I deffinitly made spagettii for dinner that night. And you would think that spagettii is very easy to make. Boil some water, brown the meat, simmer the sauce....and I did all these things. I swear! And yet it turned out kind of weird. Thankfully I don't think B would tell me he didn't like it and he ate it like a sport. So the first "meal" I made was kind of a disaster (or so in my mind it was). I guess I'll work on that. At night we went for a nice walk and met a dog who I named Buddy. He was just walking around doing his own thing until we came by and he seriously followed us forever. Then this chick drove by and saw him, stopped, got out and took him! It was sad. Bye Buddy :(
Sunday was church. If I remember correctly it's called NLCF. No idea what that stands for, but it's the campus church there. It was the third time I've been there and I really really like it. I enjoy the worship and the pastor(s) there and I think the program(s) they have going on there are really neat too. It makes me want to get involved with something here, but I have yet to figure out how to add that into my schedule. The rest of the day was, again, a lazy day. My adventure was pretty relaxing :) OH! ps, so VT apparently is ranked like number one when it comes to their food on campus, ok? So B and I go and get burgers. Holy freakin crap! Really good burger! I think I got one called 'old hickory burger'. yeah ham, burger, bacon, bbq sauce and cheese. It hit point. So good!
Then comes today. I had to travel home. Still a bit bitter about having to be back....anyways....I left around 115pm after meeting up with B for lunch inbetween his classes. Ya know, not that I thought it was going to be easy to say goodbye, but I think that each time we have to say bye it's going to get harder. I guess in an odd way that's good, right? It wouldn't be too good if saying bye was easy. The trip home went much better. I made it in 5.5hrs like your suppose to :) So yeah...in a nut shell that was my fun, little adventure this past weekend :)

ps. the answer to the last riddle was a hole.
.Chocolate Chiphttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17172390060425292559noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-351198808033936981.post-49092834565860143782008-08-27T18:17:00.000-07:002008-08-27T18:20:00.900-07:00The answer to the last post riddle: a dictionary

New Riddle: I am weightless, but you can see me. Put me in a bucket, and I'll make it lighter. What am I?Chocolate Chiphttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17172390060425292559noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-351198808033936981.post-30455261217160115272008-08-25T21:11:00.000-07:002008-08-25T21:21:39.158-07:00RiddleTold ya...I can't do this blog thing. I'm not sure why I started one. I've been starring at this blank screen for too long now trying to think of something to write. Stories from my past have come to mind, but I can't figure out how to write them out on here. Maybe someday I'll get it. It is weird though, how in person it's hard to get me to shut up, but try to get me to talk on "paper" and I become speechless. So because I need to go to bed now I have decided to leave you with a Riddle :) Ya know ya love it.

"I'm where yesterday follows today, and tomorrow's in the middle. What am I?"Chocolate Chiphttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17172390060425292559noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-351198808033936981.post-19377395044436554302008-08-13T18:10:00.000-07:002008-08-13T18:32:01.852-07:00Chalk WallsFor whoever reads this, or may read this, I'm sure you can tell I am not a writer and I am very inconsistent with my postings. I am not the type of person who can pull my thoughts together and write them out in lyrical form for others to enjoy. I think I have attempted over 10 journals in my life and have only made it through four days of consistent writing. So, because of my lack of talent in the writing world, I began writing on my bedroom walls with chalk. It's perfect. I can write whatever I want to write and whenever I want to write. I am not expected to do it daily and when my thoughts change or I want to move on to something different I can wipe the old away. Lyrics and quotes and verses that have special meanings for specific times in my life surround me. They encourage me. They inspire me. If you are like me, and have a hard time writing I highly recommend doing something like this. Just make sure if it is a wall it's your wall and not someone elses :o) I know this is short, but as I just finished explaining, I am far from a writer.Chocolate Chiphttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17172390060425292559noreply@blogger.com1
